MinneHack 2024 Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

Registration Data

By registering for MinneHack, you understand and agree that ACM UMN (hereafter "We" or "Us") reserves the complete rights to share information you provide to Us, including but not limited to your name, demographic data, and resume’ (your Registration Data) with all MinneHack Sponsors. This reservation of rights in your Registration Data extends during the event and after the event is over.

MinneHack Sponsors include all entities who have provided financial materials or promotional contributions to the event, MinneHack staff and organizers, and the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. MinneHack Sponsors include but are not limited to all entities named as such at https://minnehack.io.

We reserve the right to share Registration Data (including demographic data such as gender, age, school, and dietary restrictions) in aggregated/deidentified/anonymized form with third parties including Minnehack Sponsors and other third parties, including future sponsors of similar events.

Your Registration Data may be used to plan and improve this and future MinneHack events.

NOTICE: You may have certain rights to control how your Registration Data is used depending on the jurisdiction you live in or other factors. If you believe you have rights in your Registration Data that supercede the rights we have reserved, it is your responsibility to contact ACM University of Minnesota.

Modifications to Terms

We may, at any time, and at our sole discretion, modify this Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (“Terms”), with or without notice to you or other registrants. Any such modification will be effective immediately upon public posting. Your continued use of our Service and this Site following any such modification constitutes your acceptance of these modified Terms.

We may email you information about this and future MinneHack events. You may unsubscribe from these emails at any time with the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of our emails, or by emailing acm@umn.edu (please set subject Unsubscribe from MinneHack 2024 Mailing List) and asking us.

Release and Waiver

You agree to release the MinneHack organizers and staff, ACM UMN, and the University of Minnesota and its regents, officers, employees, agents, and representatives from any responsibility or liability for personal injury, and damage to or loss of property, that you may incur due to the negligence of the University, its officers, employees, agents, and representatives or others due to accidental occurrences while visiting the University or otherwise engaging in activities relating to the MinneHack event.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT BY ATTENDING THIS EVENT, YOU CONSENT TO YOUR VOICE, NAME, AND/OR LIKENESS BEING USED, WITHOUT COMPENSATION, IN FILMS AND TAPES FOR EXPLOITATION IN ANY AND ALL MEDIA, WHETHER NOW KNOWN OR HEREAFTER DEVISED, FOR ETERNITY, AND YOU RELEASE THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA ACM STUDENT CHAPTER , ITS SUCCESSORS, ASSIGNS AND LICENSEES FROM ANY LIABILITY WHATSOEVER OF ANY NATURE.

THE EVENT IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT OF THIRD PARTY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS. FORTNITE IS BANNED. IN NO EVENT SHALL ACM UMN, THE ORGANIZERS OR STAFF OR THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE EVENT OR THE ATTENDANCE OF OR OTHER DEALINGS WITH THE EVENT WHETHER APPRISED OF THE LIKELIHOOD OF SUCH DAMAGES OR NOT.
